Solar Plexus Chakra: Confidence in Motherhood
Hey mama!
I’m writing this to you following a long night of no sleep, overthinking, and fear paralysis. Even with all the tools, I still have my moments of being human. The moments when I spend too much time in my head with the never-ending hamster wheel of thoughts. Where I question every decision I have ever made in my life. Where I contemplate if I’m giving my child a better life or screwing him up. Where I let self-doubt get the best of me. And where I feel scared to move forward. You know what I’m talking about, right?
As I welcome in the third month of the year and the third stop along our journey through the chakras, I realize that my experience last night is timely. The solar plexus chakra, or energy center, deals with confidence and power. It deals with joy and excitement. It deals with courage and fearlessness. Ultimately, a balanced solar plexus allows us to confidently make life decisions and embrace the joy that comes with the decisions we make. It’s really the chakra where we step into co-creator of our lives. We realize we have power and decide to use it intentionally.
While I was spinning out last night, I turned immediately to the practices I know provide true comfort. I journaled, I prayed, I cried, I sat in stillness, and I turned to community (talked with a friend). If I have all the power over my life, I need to self-soothe before looking for comfort outside of myself. I knew that noting could make these feelings of self-doubt go away. I had to sit in them and combat them from within. And I did.
Why the weight of the world decided to fall on me last night, I’ll never know. But I do know that I am stepping into a new chapter of independence and this is part of the shedding. I’m living the life I’ve intentionally created for myself but it’s all unchartered territory. There is no blueprint for where I am or where I’m going. I can choose to be scared by the unknown, or I can walk confidently in the direction of my dreams. I’m choosing the latter.

My son turned 4.5 this month, and he got his own room *excuse me while I go cry…again*. My son, whom I’ve co-slept with and shared a room with for years is now ready for a new level of independence. Not only did he express that he wanted this change, he damn near facilitated it himself. Helping me move his things from my room to his. Directing where things should go. Designing his room layout. And here’s the icing on the cake: he slept in his room with no issues on the first night!
It’s ironic that my son handled this shift so easefully, but here I am second guessing myself. Our children have much to teach us. As I wrap up this message, encouraging you to work through your self-doubt, know that I’m also giving this message to myself.
May we all move with the confidence of Kairo in our decision making, and never look back. Be confident that you are a great mother.
Peace <3
